BSNL launched IVR-based Aadhar linking facility for mobile customers.

The government-run telecom firm BSNL has launched an IVR-based Aadhar linking service for its mobile customers across all of its regions. Users may now easily link their mobile number to their Aadhar number, even from home, by dialling the toll-free IVR (Interactive Voice Response) number 14546 from their mobile number.

Since 14546 is the universal access number for Indian cell providers, linking an Aadhar number is a fairly simple procedure. Customers of any operator (BSNL, Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Jio, etc.) can contact the same number, 14546, to link their Aadhar with their mobile phone number. UIDAI (Aadhaar) has released instructions for generating OTP using the service provider’s website or through the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) services in order to facilitate the linking, also known as re-verification.

You receive an SMS on your phone when the operation is complete informing you that the re-verification was successful, and that the connection process might take up to 48 hours to complete.

The new IVR service makes it simpler to link your Aadhaar number with your cell phone number without having to go to customer service centers or retail stores, which is expected to be a great relief for mobile customers. The Department of Telecommunication (DoT) has already instructed all operators to authenticate all current mobile users (Prepaid and Postpaid) using Aadhaar-based e-KYC procedure on or before 31-03-2018 in accordance with the government’s directive.
