Exclusive: The DoT acknowledges the significance of BSNL as a telecom service provider.

Government recognizes BSNL’s strengths and is considering a proposal for revival.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has issued a press release regarding the recent fake news being spread out by a particular section of media which was aimed to defame the reputation of India’s largest PSU.

The government has been made aware of some media claims that give the impression that BSNL would be shut down. This, however, is FALSE. The Government is not currently considering any proposals to shut down BSNL.
Instead, the Indian government’s Department of Telecommunications acknowledges and cherishes the inherent advantages of BSNL as a telecom service provider with a sizable infrastructure and geographic reach, particularly in rural regions. Additionally, the DoT is now completing a plan for the restoration of BSNL, which will be quickly evaluated by the Digital Communications Commission (DCC).

It seems that the aforementioned news sources have unnecessarily attempted to highlight closure as one of the choices for the resurrection of any PSU, which is inconsistent with the DoT’s present stance.

It has been made clear and underlined that the DoT wants to see a strong BSNL that is financially sound, committed to serving the country, and plays a significant role in the telecom industry.

Dear readers, please share your views and opinions about the fake news being spread out by some of the newspapers via comments with us.
