Exclusive Partnership to Expand Tower and Co-Location Services Between Edge Point Philippines and Globe Telecom

EdgePoint Infrastructure partnering with Globe Telecom to expand infrastructure.

Edge Point Infrastructure and Globe Telecom have partnered to enhance the Philippines’ telecommunications infrastructure, with the goal of increasing the country’s tower and co-location site count. For co-location and build-to-suit projects, Edge Point Towers, a branch of Edge Point, will serve as Globe’s partner tower business.

An independent ASEAN-based telecoms infrastructure business named Edge Point Infrastructure recently announced its entry into the Philippines through a new relationship with Globe Telecom, one of the nation’s top digital solution providers. To boost the country’s telecom industry, the collaboration focuses on developing colocation and tower locations.

Build-to-suit and co-location partner towerco of Globe

Edge Point Towers (Edge Point Philippines), a division of Edge Point Infrastructure, will represent Globe as a build-to-suit and co-location partner tower firm under the terms of the agreement. Both parties will collaborate closely throughout the whole building process, from selecting ideal locations until its completion.

Edge Point Philippines claimed that they would be able to meet Globe’s expansion demands and free up Globe to focus on other business-related operations thanks to their local knowledge and regional experience. According to Globe Telecom, the company is dedicated to giving customers speedy, smooth access and is a significant supporter of the country’s digital objectives.

Globe Telecom 5G Connectivity

According to the release, Globe Telecom will have 5G connections in 70 Philippine cities and towns by the end of 2022, more than tripling its coverage from the previous year. This effectively made its 5G network accessible to the whole populace of the National Capital Region (NCR), Cebu, and Davao.

Edge Point’s acquisition of towers from PLDT Group in 2022

Edge Point joined the Philippine market in April 2022 when it acquired 2,934 towers from the PLDT Group. Edge Point Philippines currently operates 2,557 active stations throughout the Luzon Islands; the entire network is expected to be shut down by the middle of 2023. The Edge Point Group owns and manages more than 14,000 towers in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Edge Point and Globe have a same vision for the introduction of next-generation connectivity options in the Philippines, and their collaboration helps Edge Point achieve its goal of dominating the market for independent tower companies there.
