The upgrade in download speed and unlimited data use for all current Bharat Fiber (FTTH) broadband services were formally announced by BSNL with effect from October 16, 2020.

As per the latest information, BSNL will be upgrading all existing Bharat Fiber Broadband plans which is currently offering to it’s existing customers.

BSNL has officially announced an increase in download speeds and free data usage for all existing Bharat Fiber (FTTH) broadband plans effective October 16, 2020, in all telecom circles.

We already informed you about this latest tariff revision on October 6, 2020. According to the latest information, BSNL will upgrade all existing Bharat fiber broadband plans that it is currently offering to its existing customers. Existing customers do not have to pay any additional costs/upgrade fees to enjoy faster download speeds and higher free data usage.

Revised Bharat Fiber (FTTH) Broadband Internet Plans from BSNL will be available across all of India starting on October 16, 2020.

Pre-FUP download speed and post-FUP download speed for BSNL Bharat Fiber (FTTH)

All currently offered plans with fixed monthly prices under Rs. 500 will receive 50 Mbps download speeds and 2 Mbps speeds following FUP consumption. Plans with monthly rents of between Rs. 500 and Rs. 650 will receive download speeds of 100Mbps prior to the FUP and 2Mbps thereafter. Plans with monthly rents between Rs. 651 and Rs. 799 may receive 100Mbps download speed prior to the FUP and 5Mbps after the FUP. 100 Mbps pre-FUP download speed and 10 Mbps post-FUP download speed are included in plans priced between Rs. 800 and Rs. 999. Upgrading BSNL Bharat Fiber (FTTH) Broadband’s pre-FUP use

Pre-FUP high speed use limits will remain unchanged for plans with monthly rentals up to Rs 999, however consumers may use up to 3.3TB of pre-FUP high speed data for plans with FMCs between Rs 1000 and Rs 1499. The pre-FUP use cap for plans with FMC over Rs 1499 will be 4TB.

As we previously noted, the new rate change by BSNL, India’s largest fixed line provider, is a positive step that will please and excite all current Bharat Fiber (FTTH) Broadband users. The beginning of this promotional program has been announced by BSNL as part of the Customer Delight Celebration.

According to the most recent BSNL FTTH speed upgrade, the connection’s minimum download speed is now 50 Mbps and its maximum download speed is 200 Mbps. However, the recently introduced Fiber Ultra Plan from BSNL also has a 300Mbps download speed option.

An official statement from BSNL on the upgrade of Bharat Fiber’s (FTTH) speed said the following: –

The appropriate authority has decided:

a) To restructure the present Bharat Fiber Broadband plans (currently offered in selected SSAs/BAs/Cities* of all circles (apart from Andaman & Nicobar) on a promotional basis for a period of 90 days for both current and new users).

b)For all DSL/Bharat Fiber Broadband plans (currently available on a PAN India or circle specific basis) to waive installation fees for customers who choose 6 (six) months or another higher payment option, with the exception of the plans “Fibre Basic”, “Fibre Value”, “Fibre Premium”, and “Fibre Ultra” in specific SSAs/BAs/Cities.

Whether this speed upgradation is for everyone?

No, according to this most recent statement, this speed and free use upgrade is only available in a small number of cities and business districts. The following is a list of places and cities where current customers will be able to get upgraded speed: –

BSNL has previously introduced unique, limitless Bharat Fiber options. – These sites will provide Fiber Value, Fiber Basic, Fiber Premium, and Fiber Ultra beginning on October 1st, 2020. With effect from 16th October 2020, the PSU has chosen to offer upgraded speed and free data consumption for its current connections in the same area, and that too for a 90-day promotional period. Existing customers may, however, receive a 100% reduction on installation fees when choosing a 6 month or longer payment plan throughout India.
