As Per Latest Information BSNL extended the scheme of ‘receipt of payment of postpaid bills through retailer C-Top Up and e-distributors’ up to 30th June 2017 on PAN India basis.

BSNL extends the postpaid bill payment scheme to 30th June 2017 on a PAN India basis.

The decision to prolong the “receipt of payment of postpaid bills through retailer C-Top Up by franchisees and E-distributors” program on a PAN India basis through June 30, 2017, has been made by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

BSNL began taking postpaid payments for landline, broadband, CDMA, and WiMax services through Indian retailer C-Top Up / e-Distributors, as we previously reported. The program came to an end on March 31, 2017.

Following feedback from the field units, BSNL officials have now agreed to prolong the program for a further three months, ending on June 30, 2017, or until the updated program goes into effect, whichever comes first.

Retailers who wish to accept Postpaid Mobile Bills may purchase separate stock for Postpaid Bill / CBP (C-Top Up / Cellone Bill Payment) Wallet. For this, retailers may contact their Franchisee Office and they will give detailed instructions regarding the scheme & commission structure.

Key Characteristics of Postpaid Bill/C-Top Up Bill Payment

  • Each dealer must take separate stock, one for prepaid and one for postpaid bills (CBP).
  • The CBP service is through USSD Platform (222MPIN#)
  • As needed, commission will be applied to the franchisee after the transaction, as opposed to the upfront fee granted in prepaid wallets.

This program allows BSNL postpaid users of landline, broadband, mobile, CDMA, and WiMAX services to settle their accounts at their neighbourhood BSNL retailer any time of the day or night, seven days a week. The Franchisees were also given a flat 2% up-front commission (without any upper capping) as part of this plan. This program is an extremely smart move by BSNL, and it will lessen the crowds at the bill counters on the day that payments are due.
