To satisfy the strategic needs in frontier areas, BSNL inaugurated 4G services in the highly secure strategic Atal Tunnel at Rohtang.

BSNL launched 4G services in Rohtang to meet strategic requirements.

The sole government-owned telecom company in India, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), has begun offering high-speed 4G mobile services in Rohtang’s strategically important Atal Tunnel.

One of India’s longest road tunnels, the 9.02 KM Atal Tunnel (Rohtang Tunnel) runs beneath the Rohtang Pass and links Manali and Leh. For our armed forces and citizens, this highway tunnel is one of the most critical corridors. BSNL consistently offers services to the general population and our armed personnel in even the most challenging environments, when commercial telecom companies are hesitant to operate.

According to the most recent information, BSNL has set up three 4G eNodeBs (4G Mobile Towers) within the Atal Tunnel to provide smooth connectivity and quick downloads of mobile data. Now that 4G mobile internet services are available throughout the tunnel, BSNL customers and members of our security personnel may benefit. Through Twitter, BSNL officers expressed their gratitude to their team members and engineers for their commitment and diligence.

As we previously reported, starting on October 1, 2020, BSNL will begin offering 4G LTE services in the Wayanad region of the Kerala Circle. In the Wayanad area, the service will be accessible in all significant cities and tourism hotspots. VoLTE, a technology that allows users of its 4G Mobile service to receive HD-quality voice services via a 4G network, was recently introduced by BSNL.

How can you enable BSNL VoLTE Service on your phone number?

BSNL Mobile customers (both prepaid and post-paid) can activate the VoLTE services on their 4G enabled smartphones by texting ‘ACT VOLTE’ to 53733. Once it is done, the services will be activated in 24 hours.

How can you tell whether your mobile device supports BSNL 4G?

Through SMS, customers may determine whether their mobile device is compatible with BSNL 4G Mobile Services.

The text message must be sent from your mobile device using the aforementioned syntax without a space and brackets. You will receive a response right away asking you to confirm that your mobile device is compatible with BSNL 4G.

Step 3: Your mobile device is compatible with BSNL 4G services if the reply includes the phrase “LTE FDD Band 1.”

By visiting the closest BSNL Customer Service Centers or BSNL retailer shops, customers may upgrade their current BSNL SIM card to a BSNL 4G SIM. In regions where network upgrades are being made, BSNL is providing Free 4G SIM upgrades.

I am not a BSNL Mobile customer. How can I avail BSNL 4G?

Customers of other private telecom providers are able to move to BSNL while keeping their current number by using MNP. Visit the closest BSNL CSC (Customer Service Center) or retail location to transfer your number to BSNL.
