For Delhi, the numbering stage from 2440 to 2449 is allotted while for Mumbai numbering stage from 2070 to 2079 is now allotted to BSNL with an on-the-spot effect. Previously those variety tiers have been allotted to MTNL. As we said in December 2020, BSNL turned into given a unified license in all 22 telecom circles which includes Mumbai & Delhi for a duration of 20 years.

On December 10th, 2020, the Department of Telecommunication (DOT) and BSNL agreed to a Unified License (UL) settlement. According to the most recent unified License agreement, BSNL is permitted to offer any kind of communication (telephone, internet, broadband, FTTH, and others) in each of India’s 22 telecom circles. According to the instructions from the DoT, BSNL has already taken over the management and security of a cell community of MTNL as of January 1, 2021. With the help of this innovative initiative, BSNL can now offer landline, broadband, and FTTH services across the cities of Delhi and Mumbai. This would also let BSNL deliver telecom services to business clients across India at the most competitive price.

Areas coming under Delhi & Mumbai LSAs

Delhi’s service areas included the National Capital Region (NCR), which included Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad, whilst Mumbai’s service area would include New Mumbai and Kalyan.

According to a DoT official circular, BSNL was given the following numbering level: –

It has been agreed to provide the following levels to M/s BSNL for its Basic Services in Delhi & Mumbai after taking into account its request for the allotment of numbering levels for Basic Services in Delhi and Mumbai LSAs.

1) Delhi: Level 2440 to 2449

2) Mumbai: Level 2070 to 2079 (One Lakh MSN)

These wireline numbering levels were previously assigned to M/s MTNL and are being revoked with immediate effect as a result of non-utilization.

Additional initiatives are being taken by MTNL and BSNL to enhance customer care.

Authorities from BSNL and MTNL have decided to implement additional measures for the improvement of Customer Care by coordinating sales. BSNL/MTNL customers are now limited to getting new mobile connections exclusively from their individual places of employment. Existing BSNL mobile customers in the cities of Delhi and Mumbai are having issues with SIM replacements. The same applies to MTNL customers. MTNL offices are now the only places where customers may obtain a replica SIM (SIM replacement). Due to the mobility limitations, customers are having difficulty obtaining essential communication services during this epidemic era.

The BSNL and MTNL officials have chosen to synergize their sales throughout all of India in order to address these problems and raise consumer satisfaction. From this point forward, MTNL Customer Service Centers in Delhi and Mumbai will provide BSNL SIM cards. Similar to how BSNL customers service centers will offer MTNL SIM cards throughout India. Customers of BSNL and MTNL will be able to use SIM replacement services from any location in India thanks to this.
