As per the latest information, Revised Shifting charges for landline telephone connection is Rs 250/- per shift.

BSNL revises external shifting and name transfer charges for voice & broadband services.

The largest fixed line provider in India, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), has revised the fees for external shifting and name transfers for voice and broadband services in the CFA (Consumer Fixed Access) sector.

For broadband connection (provided via copper cable), the same shifting charge of Rs 250/- is applicable for shifting of existing broadband line to a new location. Customers may also shift their existing Bharat Fiber (BSNL FTTH) or Bharat Air Fibre or BBo Wi-Fi (Broadband over Wi-Fi) connection to a new location by paying revised shifting charges of Rs 500/- per shift. Revised Name Transfer charges under Copper / Bharat Fibre / Bharat Air Fibre / BBo Wi-Fi connection category is Rs 250/- only.

Note: Separate shifting fees will apply for landline and broadband when switching standalone connections, i.e., landline and broadband.

Only locations where BSNL is currently offering service will be eligible for the relocation of the aforementioned services. If the services are not offered in the new site where shifting must be deployed, shifting will not be feasible. From the aforementioned external shifting fees, BSNL approved franchisees, TIPs, and Partners are not entitled to any commissions or revenue shares. These directives must be followed immediately and consistently throughout all rings.

Switching of BSNL Landline, Broadband, FTTH, Bharat Air, and BBoWiFi Connection

External Shifting: Customers must submit the relevant application form to the closest BSNL Customer Service Center (BSNL CSC) in order to move an existing BSNL telephone connection to a new location. Shifts often come in the following categories:

  1. within the same trading region
  2. In multi-exchange areas, from one exchange area to another exchange area
  3. India-wide shift

Shift eligibility: A telephone is eligible for a shift if the registration date of the first application for the needed telephone connection falls within the release period of the relevant category for the required exchange.

If the telephone has been working for at least 18 months in case of Non-OYT Registration Category and 6 months for OYT Registration Category. In case of non-fulfilment of any of the above criteria, the telephone will be kept in safe custody and will be shifted as and when the above criteria are met.

To the new installation address, the subscriber must transport his or her own telephone equipment. The phone will be moved to a new location with current amenities. After the phone has been installed, any necessary changes may be done at the new location.

BSNL Landline, Broadband, Bharat Fibre (FTTH), Bharat Air Fibre, and BBoWiFi Connection Name Transfer

After the first bill has been issued, a third party may transfer a BSNL telephone without any restrictions. Any individual who has a bona fide existence at the same location may change their name without the need for permission from their legal heir(s). However, the user needs visit the closest BSNL user Service Center (BSNL CSC) to submit the required application form and all supporting documentation.
