Users may now describe media that has been forwarded on WhatsApp thanks to a recent upgrade. In order to avoid having to manually write captions to every new photo sent, the “forward media with caption” option was first created to make it simpler for users to do so. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the function had a restriction: users could only share media with the original caption and were unable to alter it.

Users may now alter the caption to add extra information to the sent message by removing the old one. Without referencing the original caption or making it clear that it is not the original message, the new caption will be sent as a separate message. If the present caption is inaccurate or the user wishes to provide another description, this can be quite helpful.

The upgrade has already been distributed to Android beta testers at version 2.23.8.22 and is expected to be made public after testing in subsequent app releases. The new feature will be useful for users who struggle to remove subtitles from media files they wish to transmit on WhatsApp. Thanks to this update, users may now add their own descriptions to sent images, videos, GIFs, and documents. Because of this, users could discover that it’s easier to share material on the platform in a way that’s more important to them.

However, a number of beta testers have reported having issues downloading or using the platform to watch movies. It’s predicted that these vulnerabilities will be resolved in the subsequent WhatsApp release.
