As Per Latest Information the conflicts between Jio and Mathews is expected to get worse.

Rajan Mathews rejects Reliance Jio’s demand for an apology.

Following Rajan Mathews’ rejection of Reliance Jio’s demand for an apology over his recent public remark labelling the latter a back-door entrant, the gulf between the 4G entrant and Rajan Mathews, director general of the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), likely worsen.

According to Mathews, the Director General (DG) always operates in strict accordance with the COAI constitution and bylaws, hence there is no need for an apology.

The overwhelming members of COAI, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea, he claimed, fully agreed with him that the DG does not release independent remarks.

The Mukesh Ambani-led Jio company requested an apology after Mathews was accused of making disparaging comments against the telecom industry on Wednesday.

Jio also encouraged the COAI to behave appropriately; in the event that it did not, Jio threatened to take “legal recourse with full vigor” against the business association.

Telcos including Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India, and Idea Cellular are represented by COAI. Reliance Jio is likewise a component of the group.

Additionally, Mathews disregarded Jio’s demand for an immediate revision of the industry association’s equitable voting procedures. He said that the fundamental justification for proportionate voting rights is that they must reflect a member’s market representation, therefore there is no need to depart from this premise.

According to Mathews, the industry organization has also sought legal counsel on the legitimacy of Jio’s claim that the rules of the association violate the Societies Registration Act of 1860.

Jio had previously claimed that COAI’s procedures and rules are biased in favour of Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea, who together hold 68% of the executive council votes due to their combined revenue and market dominance.

In order to guarantee that COAI’s governance code is updated in accordance with the democratic ideals of reasonableness, fairness, accountability, and openness, Jio has also requested the formation of a group made up of three former Supreme Court justices.
