According to the most recent information, BSNL has indicated that, starting on July 3, 2021, all telecom circles would stop accepting the current prepaid mobile Plan Vouchers (PV) 75 and PV 94.

BSNL has decided to reduce the number of prepaid mobile tariff plans

With effect from the third of July 2021 throughout all telecom circles, BSNL has announced the discontinuation of the current prepaid mobile Plan Vouchers (PV) 75 & PV 94. Additionally, BSNL has decided to launch new STVs (Special Tariff Vouchers) on July 3, 2021, with the same denomination and functionality.

This most recent decision was made as a result of BSNL’s decision to cut the number of prepaid mobile pricing choices to an absolute minimum. BSNL is providing a free default tune for 60 days along with a new Combo STV 75 package that includes 2 GB of free data that must be used within 60 days, 100 minutes of free voice any-net in home LSA and national roaming, including Mumbai and Delhi. After the free calls with Combo STV 75, calls will be charged at a rate of 30 paisa/min.
Similar to that, consumers of Combo STV 94 may take advantage of 3 GB of free data to be used within 90 days, 100 minutes of free voice any-net in home LSA and nationwide roaming, including Mumbai and Delhi, for 90 days, and a free 60-day subscription to the BSNL default tune. On July 3, 2021, the aforementioned tax will become effective. When putting the tariff into effect, it must be done so in accordance with the 43rd Amendment to the Telecom Tariff Order and any instructions, directives, or clarifications that TRAI may occasionally give.

How will the Closed Plans 75/94 affect current customers?

Since validity extension under a closed plan is not permitted, the active customer base under PV75/94 will not be able to utilize any STV after the plan 75/94 is closed. In light of this, the whole active customer base of Plans 75 and 94 will be gradually transferred to Plans 107, as both Plans 75 and 94 have the same basic price as Plans 107 and maintain the same freebies.

Automatic Validity Extension of Customers in Closed Plans

Plan 107 will be utilized for the automatic validity extension in GP-1 as the customers of closed Plan 75/94 will be moved to Plan 107.

  • If a client’s primary account balance on the first day of GP-1 is more than or equal to Rs. 107/-, they will be upgraded to the “Premium Per Minute plan 107” with all of the perks and validity that go along with it.
  • If a client’s primary account balance is greater than Rs. 2 but less than Rs. 107, Rs. 2 will be deducted on the first day of GP-1, and the customer will be switched to the “Premium Per Minute plan 107,” which has a 3-day validity period and no plan perks.

Customers from closed plans 75/94 in GP-1/GP-2 and beyond will be gradually transferred to plan 107. The current Plan’s freebies and validity should not change. Additionally, any STV freebies that the consumer has subscribed to (if any) should not change upon conversion.
