BSNL extends post-paid bill payment scheme for 3 months.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to extend the “receipt of payment of post-paid bills through retailer C-Top Up by franchisees and E-distributors” scheme till June 30, 2018, on a PAN India basis.

BSNL began taking postpaid payments for landline, broadband, CDMA, and WiMax services through Indian retailer C-Top Up / e-Distributors, as we previously reported. The program came to an end on March 31, 2018.

Based on input from the field units, the BSNL authorities have now decided to prolong the program for a further three months, ending on June 30, 2018, or until the new program is implemented, whichever comes first.

If retailers want to accept Postpaid Mobile Bills, they can purchase separate Postpaid Bill / CBP (C-Top Up / Cellone Bill Payment) Wallet stock. Retailers can contact their franchisee office to learn more about the plan and commission structure.

Key Characteristics of Post-Paid Bill/C-Top Up Bill Payment

  • Each dealer must purchase separate stocks, one for prepaid and the other for post-paid bills (CBP).
  • Through the USSD Platform (222MPIN#), CBP offers its services.
  • In contrast to upfront commission provided in prepaid wallets, commission as appropriate will be applied to the franchisee once the transaction is completed.

Under this scheme, BSNL post-paid customers of Landline, Broadband, Mobile, CDMA and WiMAX services may pay their bills at their local BSNL retailer even after office hours on all seven days. A flat 2% up-front commission (without any upper capping) to Franchisees was also conveyed under this scheme. This scheme is really a good move by BSNL, and it will reduce the rush at BSNL Bill Counters during payment due date.
