According to the latest information, all major handset manufacturers have pledged that they will use rails supporting BSNL 4G VoLTE services in their future models.

Today, state-owned telecom giant BSNL stated that all next mobile devices supplied by handset manufacturers will automatically support BSNL 4G VoLTE services. According to the most recent information, every major manufacturer of mobile devices confirmed that they will incorporate binaries to enable BSNL 4G VoLTE services in their upcoming models.

With its current 2100MHz spectrum, BSNL is offering VoLTE services at the moment. Additional 4G spectrum will be given to BSNL as part of the BSNL Revival Scheme to enable a quicker roll-out of 4G services across India. The majority of the major mobile phone makers have spoken with BSNL officials, who have affirmed that all next mobile devices they produce would support 4G VoLTE services from BSNL. Samsung, Xiaomi (Mi), One Plus, VIVO, Motorola, OPPO, Lenovo, ASUS, Realme, Huawei, Honor, LG, and others are among them.

Samsung

According to Samsung, BSNL 4G VoLTE binaries would be included by default on all next mobile devices. To add support for BSNL 4G VoLTE services, they will be providing firmware upgrades for the current models.

Xiami (Mi)

According to Xiaomi (Mi), all cell phone models introduced after the Mi Mix 2 support BSNL VoLTE. According to Xiaomi, the following devices are “end of life” or “obsolete” in terms of BSNL 4G VoLTE support: Redmi 4, Redmi Note 4, Mi Max, Mi Max Pro, Redmi 3S, Redmi Note 3, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3G, Redmi Note 4G, and Redmi Note 4G Prime. This suggests that some devices won’t have BSNL 4G VoLTE functionality in future Mi software updates.

VIVO

According to VIVO, all mobile phone models that were introduced after August 2019 support BSNL 4G VoLTE by default. With regard to BSNL 4G VoLTE support, all VIVO smartphone models released before August 2019 are out of date or EOL (End Of Life). However, they are making every effort to identify an update that would also include these models that were excluded.

OPPO

Recently released OPPO Reno 4 Pro model is 4G VoLTE compatible with BSNL. After August 2020, BSNL 4G VoLTE services will be supported by default on all new phones. In order to enable BSNL 4G VoLTE, fresh firmware upgrades for older devices are anticipated in November 2020. For certain of the chosen models, such as the F11, F11 Pro, F15, Reno 3 Pro, Reno, Reno 10X Zoom, Reno 2, Reno 2z, etc., the OPPO R&D team is developing OS and firmware updates.

Motorola

The Motorola team has affirmed that all forthcoming releases of Motorola devices will continue to support BSNL VoLTE starting in Q1 of FY 2020.

Realme

According to Realme, the Realme7i is a recently released 4G VoLTE-capable mobile phone in India that is compatible with BSNL. They have promised that all next models would by default support BSNL 4G VoLTE services.

One Plus

One Plus 8T, a recently released model, supports BSNL 4G VoLTE. All next One Plus devices will offer BSNL 4G VoLTE services.

Gionee

According to Gionee, all of their models are compatible with BSNL 4G VoLTE services.

LG

According to LG, all next models would automatically support BSNL 4G VoLTE. Their current versions, the LG G8X, G8S, Q60, G7/G7+, and V40, are also compatible with BSNL 4G VoLTE.

ASUS

Additionally, the ASUS team has verified that all next models would come standard with compatibility for BSNL 4G VoLTE services.

How can you tell if your existing mobile device is BSNL 4G compatible?

Through SMS, customers may determine whether their mobile device is compatible with BSNL 4G Mobile Services.

Step 1: Start by dialling *#06# to discover the IMEI number of your mobile device. You will receive a 15-digit IMEI number; if two are shown, only utilize the first one.

Step 2: Dial 14422 and text “KYM”

The text message must be sent using the aforementioned syntax without a space and brackets from your mobile device. You will immediately get a reply requesting you to confirm that your mobile handset is BSNL 4G compliant.

Step 3: Your mobile device is compatible with BSNL 4G services if the reply includes the phrase “LTE FDD Band 1.”

How can you make your phone number a BSNL VoLTE service?

BSNL Mobile customers (both prepaid and post-paid) can activate the VoLTE services on their 4G enabled smartphones by texting ‘ACT VOLTE’ to 53733.

The services will be made available after 24 hours. Customers must select one of the following options for network mode in the mobile network settings of their mobile device after the activation of VoLTE services: –

  • LTE Preferred Mode
  • LTE / WCDMA / GSM Auto
  • VoLTE Enabled

Below are details about the most recent 4G rollout by BSNL.

  • From October 30th, 2020 forward, BSNL will roll out 4G LTE Mobile Services in Kumarakom, a charming backwater location in Kerala.
  • BSNL 4G in Ernakulam District: 72 tower sites will offer 4G Ultra-Fast Mobile Data services starting on October 30, 2020.
  • The Malappuram district will have 62 tower locations where BSNL 4G LTE Mobile Internet Services will be operational on October 1st, 2020.
  • In all significant locations in the Wayanad district, BSNL will begin offering Ultra-Fast 4G mobile internet service on October 1, 2020.
  • In order to meet the strategic demands in remote places, BSNL launched 4G services in Rohtang’s incredibly safe Atal Tunnel.
