As Per Latest Information at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, BSNL will sign an MoU with Nokia on knowledge exchange for 5G & IoT applications.

BSNL and Nokia sign MoU to exchange knowledge on 5G and IoT.

On February 28, 2017, during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the state-run telecom giant Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) chose to sign an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Nokia on knowledge exchange on 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

Joint 5G demonstrations, trials of various IoT (Internet of Things) applications, and services that fulfill the needs of the rapidly expanding IoT industry are all part of the proposed agreement. Additionally, both parties will host seminars and create a framework for building a 5G network.

Anupam Shrivastava, CMD of BSNL, stated that 5G and IoT, which are important in the notion of smart cities, are the next generation after 4G. The MoU will help BSNL create a strategy for switching from the current network to the advanced 5G network.

In addition, Nokia will collaborate with BSNL by exchanging ideas for 5G technology, new product introductions, and innovations that are in the public domain and show the potential of 5G and IoT for the Indian market.
