Exclusive: Jio Fiber and Airtel Fiber comparison; BSNL’s new Bharat Fiber Plans may have a 4000GB FUP restriction

BSNL’s new Bharat Fiber Plans offer 4000GB FUP limit.

As we previously reported, BSNL is getting ready to provide new, limitless fiber-optic broadband (BSNL FTTH / Bharat Fiber) options with speeds of up to 300Mbps, along with a free OTT subscription. To counteract recently unveiled offers by Reliance Jio and Airtel, the PSU has chosen to provide these new Bharat Fiber services.

Now that the new Bharat Fiber (BSNL FTTH) plans have been suggested, we have more specific information about them, including the maximum download and upload speed, the FUP usage limit, the download and upload speed after exceeding the FUP usage limit, information on the included OTT packs, and a comparison to the plans offered by Jio Fiber and Airtel Fiber. With effect from October 1, 2020, BSNL will roll out four (4) new Bharat Fiber plans across India: “Bharat Fiber Basic,” “Bharat Fiber Value,” “Bharat Fiber Premium,” and “Bharat Fiber Ultra.”

BSNL Bharat Fiber Basic Plan 449

The BSNL Bharat Fiber Basic plan would provide download speeds of 2 Mbps after 3300 GB of use and 30 Mbps up to 3300 GB. Rent will be Rs 449 per month (plus GST). Additionally, customers may make unlimited free voice calls to any network. No OTT subscription will be offered by BSNL as part of the 449 package. The BSNL Bharat Fiber Basic plan would provide 2Mbps download speed after FUP, which is faster than Jio Fiber and Airtel Fiber. In comparison to Jio Fiber and Airtel Fiber, the installation costs for BSNL Bharat Fiber are also reasonable.

BSNL Bharat Fiber Value Plan 799

The BSNL Bharat Fiber Value plan offers 2Mbps download speed after 3300GB of usage and 100Mbps download speed up to 3300GB. Rent will be Rs 799 per month (plus GST). Additionally, customers may make unlimited free voice calls to any network. No OTT subscription will be offered by BSNL as part of the 799 package. The BSNL Bharat Fiber Basic plan would provide 2Mbps download speed after FUP, which is faster than Jio Fiber and Airtel Fiber. In comparison to Jio Fiber and Airtel Fiber, the installation costs for BSNL Bharat Fiber are also reasonable.

BSNL Bharat Fiber Premium Plan 999

The BSNL Bharat Fiber Premium package would provide download speeds of 200 Mbps up to 3300 GB and 2 Mbps after 3300 GB of use. The monthly rent will be Rs 999 (plus GST). Additionally, customers may make unlimited free voice calls to any network. The following OTT services are available to customers for free: Star Plus, Star Jalsha, Star Vijay, Star Bharat, Asianet, Star Maa, Asianet Plus, Star Suvarna, Maa Gold, Star Utsav, HBO, National Geography, etc. The BSNL Bharat Fiber Premium package would provide 2Mbps download speed after FUP, which is faster than Jio Fiber and Airtel Fiber. In comparison to Jio Fiber and Airtel Fiber, the installation costs for BSNL Bharat Fiber are also reasonable.

BSNL Bharat Fiber Ultra Plan 1499

The BSNL Bharat Fiber Ultra package would provide download speeds of 300 Mbps up to 4000 GB and 4 Mbps beyond that. Rent would be Rs. 1499 per month (plus GST). Additionally, customers may make unlimited free voice calls to any network. The following OTT services are available to customers for free: Star Plus, Star Jalsha, Star Vijay, Star Bharat, Asianet, Star Maa, Asianet Plus, Star Suvarna, Maa Gold, Star Utsav, HBO, National Geography, etc. The BSNL Bharat Fiber Basic plan would provide 4Mbps download speed after FUP, which is faster than Jio Fiber and Airtel Fiber. In comparison to Jio Fiber and Airtel Fiber, the installation costs for BSNL Bharat Fiber are also reasonable.

The aforementioned plans will initially only be offered in a certain places, as we previously reported, where there is fierce competition from commercial telecom companies like Jio Fiber, Airtel Fiber, etc. Before the formal launch on October 1, 2020, there is still a risk that the PSU will change the aforesaid rate offer.
